Clients take comfort from my approach to treatment because
my default is not to push prescription medications if they aren't necessary.
Clients feel accepted and supported, not judged.
Conventional treatment, although helpful,
often overlooks nutrient deficiencies,
even though this can negatively impact mental health.
I test for nutritional deficiencies so they can be corrected.
My opinion on this issue is based on the low success rate for
mental health medications as singular, stand-alone treatments.
The odds of success improve if nutrient deficiencies
are corrected, making medications more effective.
Before earning my Master of Science in Nursing at University of Pennsylvania (#1 nursing school in the world), I worked at University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center (#1 in the U.S. for cancer care) in Houston and Hospital for Special Surgery (#1 in the U.S. for orthopedics) in New York City.
After graduating from University of Pennsylvania, I worked at
Dallas VA Medical Center Outpatient Mental Health Clinic
as a Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for over four years.
When not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband, son and sleepy basset.
